An Internet company in Spain
is offering clients a chance to leave one final
message from their loved ones. The company gives
people, the chance to write one last e-mail
complete with video clips or photo attachments
which can be sent to loved ones, friends or even
enemies after the person who wrote it has died.
The Company offers four plans
ranging from a free service allowing users to
send a one-time e-mail, to a lifetime membership
allowing unlimited e-mail and megabytes of
storage space. Users can update and rewrite
their messages as often as they like before they
pass on.
Alberto Iriarte is the
director of the company. He says, "Most people
leave notes behind in drawers or boxes hoping
they will be found after they die" he adds,
"This is the same, but via Internet." Iriarte
says his company is not trying to make money out
of death. Instead he sees the company offering
help in the grieving process. Iriarte adds,
"People find computers more intimate and private
than letters and they feel freer to say things
this way." He says the service is not a
substitute for a will but is only a modern
version of the drawer or box where people have
always left their final messages.

People find many ways to
leave something lasting for our friends and
loved ones to remember us by. The best message
we can leave is a strong testimony through our
lives.
Hebrews 11:4 (NASB) "By faith
Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than
Cain, through which he obtained the testimony
that he was righteous, God testifying about his
gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he
still speaks."
TESTIMONY
Adrian Gonzalez is the first
baseman for the Boston Red Sox. He is also a
believer. Each of his bats bears the inscription
Ps 27:1. The psalm reads, “The Lord is my light
and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is
the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be
afraid?”
When asked about the
inscription Gonzalez replied, “Whenever you’re
in a tough moment, you look at that bat and
realize it’s not about the moment, it’s about
God.”

We may never walk to the
plate to take swings in a major league ball
game, but we all have major league moments in
our occupation. Gonzalez’ remedy for putting
things in perspective is a good one.
Psalm 27:1 (ESV) The LORD is
my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom
shall I be afraid?
TESTIMONY
In the closing seconds of the
playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and
the New Orleans Saints, Viking quarterback
Case Keenum connected with his receiver for
the winning touchdown. In a widely televised
post-game interview Keenum remarked, “This was
the third best moment of my life behind giving
my life to Jesus Christ and marrying my wife.”
Most of us will never have the
opportunity to speak to millions of people
about how important we hold our relationship
to Christ. The question is, do we take the
opportunities we do have to lift up Jesus
Christ? —Jim L. Wilson and Rodger Russell.

What
I tell you in the dark, speak in the light. What
you hear in a whisper, proclaim on the
housetops.
TESTIMONY
An
automobile
accident injured Philadelphia Phillies
baseball player Sean
Rodriguez in the 2016 off season when a
thief rammed a stolen police cruiser into
the SUV Rodriguez was driving. His wife and
two of their four children were
also in the SUV. Giselle and the children
suffered serious injuries in the
crash that killed the driver of the stolen
vehicle.
Rodriguez
suffered
significant shoulder damage. For the 2017
and the 2018 season his play
suffered. Sean said, “The accident brought
my wife, my family, me, even closer
to each other and to God. We weren’t gonna
take any blessings for granted.
Whether God wanted me to keep playing or
not, so be it.” Finally, in 2019 his
game returned to his former level.
One
leadership
consultant for pro baseball teams says that
“Rodríguez’s Christian
faith at work in how he holds himself and
his fellow players to a high
standard: Sean is driven by a love for
Christ and his teammates.”
Rodríguez
says:
“Baseball is a platform for my faith.”

This
is
a great testimony and a great challenge for
us, to make whatever it is we do
as a platform to share our faith. —Jim L.
