REDEDICATION
In the book, Worship- a way of life, Patrick Kavanaugh tells
how Israel often included worship when they dedicated something to the Lord. He
says, "They realized how critical it is to start something in the right
direction, knowing that anything askew initially will only worsen in the coming
years. When we begin something new in our lives with worship, we release our
faith in God's blessings on the future. It is (unfortunately) possible both to
pray and read the Bible and still have little faith in the future outcome of a
given situation. But as we begin to worship, our faith is released and we
become more and more sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not
see."
Life is filled with many beginnings. We need to rededicate
ourselves to God at every turn. These change points include marriage, the birth
of a child, or changing jobs. Submitting every major decision to the Lord at
the outset keeps us moving forward in faith.
