PREACH
A Pennsylvania high school senior who was not allowed to
hang the Ten Commandments on his school locker, has decided to hang them on
himself instead.
Chris Cotelesse ( kah-tuh-LEH'-see) says he believes people
need to see the Word of God. Originally, Chris planned to post a copy of God's
laws on his locker so everyone who passed by would see them. His Principal
nixed the plan, however saying he could not allow the commandments to be posted
on school property because of concerns over the separation of church and state.
Instead of his locker, Chris has posted the Ten Commandments
on himself. For the past three weeks, Chris has been wearing a homemade
sandwich board displaying the commandments. He plans to continue wearing his
sign for the rest of the school year. His principal, William Lyon will allow
the display. He says, he respects any student who is willing to stand up for
his religious beliefs, no matter what they are.
Perhaps we all could learn a lesson from Chris, he is taking
Paul's advice to Timothy literally.
2 Tim. 4:2 "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and
out of season, correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful
instruction."
