HELMET OF SALVATION
A British Royal Marine was shot in the head four times
during a firefight in the Iraqi port city of Umm Qasr, has lived to tell about
it. After he was caught in the enemy’s gun sights, four bullets ripped through
the outer camouflage of Eric Walderman’s standard issue helmet. Though the
bullets could have meant certain death, the protective Kevlar shell underneath
the cloth coverage stopped them.
All of the coalition forces wear helmets made of the tough
Polymer Plastic. Kevlar was developed in the mid 1960s, and in some
applications, can be up to twenty times stronger than steel. The military began
using Kevlar helmets to replace the old “steel pot” helmets in the late 1970s.

Ephesians 6:10-11, 17 NASB “Finally, be strong in the Lord,
and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God that you may be
able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. And take the helmet of
salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
