HARMONY/UNITY

When Darryl Peebles typed his name into an Internet search engine, he was surprised to find another Daryl R. Peebles living on the Australian island state of Tasmania. The American Peebles made contract with his Australian namesake and found they had a lot more than their name in common. Both Peebles were born in 1949. Both have three children with a child born in 1975 and 1977. Their fathers both came from small towns and both worked on lathes of some kind. The two Peebles decided they had to meet when they learned both were keen performers, enjoyed illusion, ventriloquism, and playing music.

The men got together at the church the American Peebles pastors in North Carolina and put on two variety shows for about 400 people. The American Peebles hopes to visit Tasmania one day where the Australian Peebles works for the local government. When asked about the strange circumstances, the American Peebles said, "It is as though we have known each other forever. Our minds and our personalities are so much alike. It's as if we were brothers. He asked, "What are the chances of finding someone with your name and so many similarities? I still can't believe it has happened."

It is one thing to live in unity with those we share much in common with, and another with those who are different from us.

Philippians 2:2 (CEV) "Now make me completely happy! Live in harmony by showing love for each other. Be united in what you think, as if you were only one person."

HARMONY

When Nate Mercereau heard about neighbors of the Golden Gate Bridge (San Francisco, CA) complain about the humming noise made by wind passing through the slats in the bridge he found it “remarkably musical,” and decided to build music around it. Following the bridge’s lead, he plays a melody line that blends with the tones.

Colossians 3:14 (CSB)

Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.
