GUARANTEE

When you buy anything from an appliance to a new car, you automatically expect a warranty to protect you from defects in workmanship. Until now, it has not been possible to get a money-back guarantee on your marriage, but times are changing!

Pastor Rodney Smith of Anointed Believers Baptist Church in Georgia is putting his money where his mouth is. Smith says "it's time for a winner-take-all battle between the Word of God and the current divorce rate."

The pastor is currently providing premarital counseling with a guarantee that the marriage will last for 10 years or he will refund the couple's money, up to three times the amount they originally paid.

Pastor Smith believes counseling is extremely important right now because many people are rushing into marriage due to a doomsday outlook in our society. He says, most couples are falsely prepared to die together today, tomorrow, or next week, but not ready to live happily with each other the following month or next year.

The best warranty for any marriage is preparation beforehand. Jesus advised his disciples to consider the cost of their commitments. He said, "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'" Luke 14:28-30. NIV

The United States has enjoyed its position as the world’s economic superpower for decades. However, in recent years, this dominance has come under fire and many other countries have made their way up the economic ladder to challenge the US.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF,) has made a startling prediction stating that China would soon overtake the U.S. This would mark the end of an era as the U.S. would be demoted from the position it has long enjoyed. The IMF suggests this changing of the guard will take place in six years wherein China’s economy will expand to $19 trillion while the U.S. will trail with $18.8 trillion in output. As the world economic superpower, the U.S. has helped influence other world governments in terms of humanitarian issues and ethics. China has none of these concerns and its economic dominance may mean an entirely new world culture.

All people would do well to be aware that nothing in this world is permanent, except God and His word.

1 Peter 1:23-2:1 (NASB77) (23) for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word of God. (24) For, " ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS, AND ALL ITS GLORY LIKE THE FLOWER OF GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS, AND THE FLOWER FALLS OFF, (25) BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ABIDES FOREVER." And this is the word which was preached to you. (1) Therefore, putting aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,

During the summer of the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, the United States unemployment rate rose, but did not surpass the 24.9 percent of the great depression.  As it rose, some began making an argument that the federal government should create an employment guarantee?  Insecure times cause people to long for guarantees, which do not exist for finances, however, there are some things you can count on.  We are to glorify God and praise Him, in that through the Holy Spirit we are given a guarantee of our final redemption.  —Jim L. Wilson and Jason Blankenship

Ephesians 1:14 (CSB)

The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.
