In their book, "The Insider",
Peterson & Shamy write, "God loves people
whether they love him back or not. The farmer
who hates God gets just as much sun and rain on
his crops as does his neighbor the next farm
over, who loves God. Why do the wicked prosper?
They prosper because God loves them! Jesus is
saying, You do the same. Love the people in your
life without having an agenda for them. Love
them because God loves them."

Matthew 5:45 (KJV) "That ye
may be the children of your Father which is in
heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the
evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the
just and on the unjust."

After Dallas Cowboys Wide
Receiver Terrell Owens was taken to a Dallas
area hospital, police classified the incident as
an accidental overdose of pain killers. A few
days after the incident, Owens was still
hurting, but said he has felt the support of
numerous people close to him since he was
released from the hospital.
Owners said he was encouraged
by the response of many people close to him. His
cousin, pastor, and a friend from the San
Francisco 49ers practice squad all paid Owens a
visit after the incident. He said another friend
flew in from New York because she said God told
her to come see him. Owens said that particular
friend was a real encouragement, telling him,
"we can all say we love somebody, but there's a
difference between superficial love and godly
love. 'God is going to be there no matter what
you do.'"

There is no shortage of the
Love of God. Paul is convinced of that, and so
am I.
Romans 8:38-39 (NASB77) “For
I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor
angels, nor principalities, nor things present,
nor things to come, nor powers, (39)
nor height, nor depth, nor any other created
thing, shall be able to separate us from the
love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our
Lord.”

Years ago, an evangelist
helped personalize the gospel for me. “Repeat
John 3:16,” he said. “And when you come to the
words ‘world’ and ‘whosoever,’ replace them with
your own name.” I left the meeting that night
having responded personally to the personal love
of God, for me.
John 3:16 (KJV) “For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.”

In his book, It Calls You Back,
Luis J. Rodriguez discusses the true
relationship between a father and son who
dealt with gangs. This son gets in a fight
with his father about being in a gang. The son
then runs away from the father and the father
chases him “from street to street, alley to
alley.” Then it goes on to say that the father
searched for his son, Ramiro, for two weeks
straight but was never able to find him. Then
one of Ramiro’s friends tells the father where
he is. The father then goes and retrieves his
son.
Luis, the father says, “I just
don’t want to fail- I can’t. My son is
precious to me. Yet I know it’s on me to find
a way.” Following this he gets a call from the
police saying they have his son and are
prepared to send him to a juvenile detention
center. The father bails his son out of this.
Time and time again the father goes after his
son leaving behind his other children and
wife. —Jim L. Wilson and Pete

Matthew 18:12–14 (CSB)
What do you think? If someone has
a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray,
won’t he leave the ninety-nine on the hillside
and go and search for the stray? And if he
finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over
that sheep more than over the ninety-nine that
did not go astray. In the same way, it is not
the will of your Father in heaven that one of
these little ones perish.

Former
Pastor Steven Dyer owns a stable business in
Oklahoma and enjoys working with
horses. He shares his experience through
YouTube and has posted videos about
the challenges of working with wild mustangs
and teaching ponies not to be
afraid. Dyer named the video series,” Sermon
By Horse,” and said he got the
idea from working with a mustang when he saw a
connection between the way
horses need boundaries and the way God
lovingly uses boundaries to protect His
people. As he worked with the horse, Dyer
realized the animal would like to get
out of his pen and run away to find freedom,
but as the horse’s trainer, he
knew something bad could happen if the animal
ran away. Dyer said he saw a connection
between the boundaries he gave the horse to
protect it, and the boundaries God
uses to protect the people He loves. Dyer said
he has loved horses since he was
a small boy and has trained them and taught
people to ride in locations ranging
from the Navajo Reservation to Saudi Arabia
and has always found ways to use
the animals to share his faith in Christ. —Jim
