EMPTY NEST
David Beardsley, describes the empty nest years this way,
"After two decades of screen doors banging, parent-teacher conferences,
wet towels on the bathroom floor, and evenings at the ballfield, your time is
your own again. And the house is so quiet."

In an empty nest forum on the Internet, one woman described
the frustration of her experience by saying, "…it's so awful that you
spend 17 years of your life pouring love into your child, and enjoying every
moment with them and then they just go away." She goes on to ask, "Do
you get over this heartache as time goes on?"
