In his book, The Way of
Holiness, Stephen Olford writes, “…we cannot
personally reveal Christ until we have received
Christ, but if there is a genuine experience of
the indwelling Savior, then we have a supreme
responsibility to reveal Christ consciously,
conspicuously, and continually in every area of
life.”

those who become Christians become new persons.
They are not the same anymore, for the old life
is gone. A new life has begun!”
The catastrophic explosion of the Deepwater
Horizon Oil rig, on April 20, 2010, has resulted
in one of the worst environmental disasters in
America, which will significantly affect the gulf
region for many years. One of the by-products of
the seemingly uncontainable leak is a nasty,
sticky, frothy, gooey, goopy, rusty brown
substance that scientists have dubbed “mousse,” or
“chocolate mousse,” because of the color. This
“mousse” is an emulsion that forms when oil, air,
and water are agitated and mixed together, as
happens in the open ocean.

In many ways, life resembles a nasty, sticky,
frothy, gooey, goopy mousse, which forms when
light tries to mix with darkness, and is
agitated by the world. This is what happens when
Christians disregard the Bible’s advice to come
out from the world, separate ourselves from
wickedness, and not have fellowship with the
darkness.
2 Cor. 6:14-18 (NIV) Do not be yoked together
with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and
wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship
can light have with darkness? What harmony is
there between Christ and Belial? What does a
believer have in common with an unbeliever? What
agreement is there between the temple of God and
idols? For we are the temple of the living God.
As God has said: "I will live with them and walk
among them, and I will be their God, and they
will be my people." "Therefore come out from
them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no
unclean thing, and I will receive you." "I will
be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and
daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

Michael B. Jordon shares a
name with one of the most famous basketball
players of all time. Living with a famous name
is not easy.
“I hated my name. I wanted to
change it,” Jordan, who is an accomplished actor
says. “But it gave me a healthy chip on my
shoulder. One of my goals is when people hear
‘Michael Jordan,’ it’s not clear which one’s
being talked about–because I can’t be the guy
who was almost the famous Michael Jordan.”
We need to remember that we
too carry a famous name. Ever since Antioch,
people have called the disciples of Jesus
Christians. We need to treat the name with
respect and live in such a way as to never bring
shame on the name. --Jim L. Wilson and Rodger
Russell.

Antioch. For a whole year they met with the
church and taught large numbers. The disciples
were first called Christians at Antioch.”

Obviously, the Vladimir Putin who was
belligerent and uncooperative is not the
person by the same name who rules Russia. When
you have a famous name you make the news when
you misbehave. You and I bear the name of some
one more famous than Putin. Christ followers
were given his name early in the history of
the church. When we carry the name of Christ
it behooves us to live as if he were beside
us. —Jim L. Wilson and Rodger Russell.

Police
in
Muncie, Indiana stopped James Jason Buck and
discovered him carrying
methamphetamine. At the station, Buck gave
police a false name. There was one
problem with his plan. He has a tattoo on his
neck with his real name. He ended
up with a possession charge and a charge for
false informing.
As
Christians
we live in the world with the name of Christ,
if not tattooed on our neck,
tattooed on our heart. We should live every
moment of the Christian life as if
the world were seeing Jesus printed on our
forehead. —Jim L. Wilson &
