Cincinnati Bengal's Receiver
Chad Johnson is letting his
mouth get him in trouble. Johnson boasted that
he would celebrate a touchdown
catch in a game with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He
then asked his fans to bring a
dollar to the game with them to help him pay for
the fine that would be imposed
by the NFL.
Earlier in the season,
Johnson sent a bottle of Pepto-Bismal
to the defensive backs of the Cleveland Browns,
along with a hand written note
saying the players would get sick trying to
cover him. That week Johnson had the
worst game of his career and the Bengals lost
34-17.
Johnson's coach Marvin Lewis
was not happy with the
receiver's remarks. He sat in stunned silence
after hearing Johnson's words,
and then said, "It's not a wise thing. It's not
his fine that's as
significant as if we get a penalty." Several
veteran players have warned
Johnson that his untimely comments only rile up
the opposing team.
Baltimore Raven's player Ray
Lewis has himself made some
comments at times. He had some advice for Chad
Johnson after hearing the latest
statement. Lewis called Johnson and told him to
keep his mouth shut and play.

BOASTING/BRAGGING
Twenty-four year-old Randy
Washington recently pleaded
guilty to federal charges that will put him
behind bars for more than four
years. Washington was arrested after he called a
popular confession radio
program in Chicago and gave police the break
they needed to solve a baffling
case.
A gang of robbers took
$81,000 from the South Chicago
Heights TCF Bank in April 2004. Police did not
have much to go on until a
caller to a popular radio program bragged that
the group had been "buying'
Louis Vuitton this, Blas that, everything man."
The caller also described
the exact amount of cash taken in the robbery
and stated that an employee was
in on the heist.
After the call, authorities
were able to trace the call to
Washington's cell phone and promptly arrested
him.

BOASTING
Bumble
is an
app for your smart device where you can build
relationships with new people. It
might be wise to be careful who tell your
secrets to. Cannon Harrison was on
the app when a woman bragged to him
about a
prize deer she had shot out of season. Mr.
Harrison initially thought someone
was playing a prank when the woman told him on
Bumble she’d shot a “bigo buck,”
or big ol’ buck.
He asked her to send
a photo
of the deer, which she did. The next day she
was fined $2,400 because Cannon
Harrison is a state game warden. —Jim L.
