When I think about Girl

I’ve always thought the organization was one
that held traditional values and taught them to
girls. Perhaps that has been your experience
with them. But this week I read a startling
report that the Senior Girl Scout Handbook, (for
ages 14-17) talks about how girls can end a
pregnancy and advocates euthanasia under some
circumstances.
Has abortion become so
accepted in our day that the Girl Scouts feel it
is their responsibility to inform girls about
it?

A person's faith does make

According to George Barna, 43% of non-Christian

What accounts for the 30%
difference? Not an affiliation with a political

is sacred—all life—even the life of an unborn
child. Children are a gift from God, after they
are born, and before.

It is one thing to preach
against a problem and another to become part of
the solution. Mike and Jane Nason are part of
the solution forty times now.
The Nasons decided to
become foster parents after hearing a preacher
say, "If abortion is outlawed, what will happen
to the babies?" They were led of the Lord to
contact the Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes
about becoming foster parents.
"Baby Jane" an abandoned
baby born in a restroom and left in a trash can
to die became their fortieth foster child. A
janitor found a blood trail that led to the
dumpster and called the police. A policeman
retrieved the tiny baby and rushed her to a
hospital, now she is safe and sound in the arms
of parents who feel that caring for her is a
part of their "ministry."

Near the end of the

New scanning techniques
have produced amazing pictures of babies inside
the womb, which show babies apparently smiling
and crying. The procedure has been pioneered by
London obstetrician professor Stuart Campbell at
the Create Health Center for Reproduction and
Advanced Technology. The new techniques, known
as 3D and 4D scanning, make a more detailed
picture examination of the fetuses
possible.
The new pictures offer new
insight into fetal behavior. The techniques have
captured images of fetuses yawning, blinking,
and sucking their fingers. They even seem to
smile and cry, and move their limbs at very
young ages.
Campbell says, “There are
many questions that can now be investigated.” He
asks, “Does the fetus smile because it is happy,
or cry because it has been disturbed by some
event in the womb?” Campbell also wonders, “ Why
does a fetus blink when we assume it’s dark
inside the uterus?”
Up to now, doctors did not
think infants made expressions like those
captured until after birth. They previously
thought babies learned to smile by copying their
mothers.

Though it is not found in
the Bible, there is some truth to the old saying
”God works in mysterious ways.” A young mother
known as Erin (not her real name) was distraught
over her situation. She was caring for four
children, their father in jail, had lost her
job. The family’s electricity was about to be
turned off, and there was no money to pay the
rent. After Erin got her other children off to
school one morning, she remembered she was late
for an appointment to abort the baby she was
expecting.
Erin picked up the
phone to ask if she could come in late. Though
she thought she was calling about her abortion
appointment, Erin dialed the wrong number and
called another organization, 40 days from life
in Indianapolis. She talked to a counselor, who
worked with her and then spread the word about
Erin’s situation. In a short time, a volunteer
offered to pay her electric bill, and others
pooled cash to pay the rent.
Erin eventually
called to cancel the appointment and requested a
refund. She reacted with joy and disbelief that
strangers are helping her. Her case is a
reminder that there are no coincidences, or

While it is legal to get an abortion in
America, it is getting more difficult in many
states. In 2012, seventeen states set new
additional limits on abortion, making it harder
to obtain one. These laws include a longer
waiting period, to forcing the woman to listen
to a detailed description of the fetus during
the required ultrasound, to warning about more
possible risks of abortion. In a few states,
there is still only one abortion clinic. Since
2008 the number of abortions has slightly
fallen. This is also likely due to the decrease
in marriages and the increase in preventative
measures to prevent pregnancy.

Ob-Gyn doctor Camilla Hersh,

incest exception to abortion.
One patient, a pregnant
14-year-old, was brought to her. The pregnancy
was the result of incest. In talking to the girl
and her family the subject of abortion was
brought up. The girl said, “Oh, you mean you’d
kill the baby? I don’t want to kill the baby.
No, no, no. I just want you to stop Grandpa from
hurting me.”
The girl continued her
pregnancy, placed the baby up for adoption,
continued school, had a good life, and the law
stopped the grandfather from hurting her and her
sister and her brother.
According to Dr. Hersh, “When
you say there’s a pregnancy as a result of

must be diagnosed and treated. To kill the
victim doesn’t really treat the crime.” —Jim L.

of America’s biggest serial killer, is an independent
film covering the trial and conviction of
Kermit Gosnell, an American Physician, who
owned and operated an abortion clinic for over
three decades. Through an uphill battle, the
film made its way to the public eye during the
fall of 2018 in 668 movie theaters. From
October 20th to October 27th the film grossed
over 1.2 million dollars! In fact, the movie
was even placed in the top ten film list. One
would think with all the success more theaters
would begin showing the film, but surprisingly
over 188 of the theaters actually dropped the
movie after the first week. —Jim L. Wilson and
Jacob Davidson
Ephesians 6:12 (CSB) ”For our
struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the cosmic powers of this darkness,
against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.”

In
the current culture of expanding abortion
rights it is refreshing to read the story of a
person whose views changed to no longer
support abortion. Trillia Newbell is the
director of community outreach for the Ethics
and Religious Liberty Commission of the
Southern Baptist Convention. Newbell says,
“Many moons ago, before the Lord captured my
heart by his grace, I interned at the New York
State Assembly and I imagine I would have been
among those cheering on the new abortion bill.
But God. God changed my heart, transformed my
mind, gave me a love for the unborn. It took
God.” —Jim
L. Wilson and Rodger Russell.
World
Magazine, February 16, 2019, p. 8
Fight
as we might about pro-life pro-choice
positions, Newbell makes it clear the real
battlefield is the hearts of people. It is
God, not political arguments, that changes
minds.
Ezekiel 11:19 (CSB)19
I will give them integrity of heart and put a
new spirit within them; I will remove their
heart of stone from their bodies and give them a

In Japan, a doctor delivered a
baby boy by C-section at 24-week gestation.
The baby had stopped growing and weighed only
9.45 ounces at birth. After 6 months, he is
going home weighing seven pounds. The medical
treatment of pregnancy and childbirth has
improved until there are very few health
reasons for an abortion. The only reason
abortion remains as a viable alternative is we
simply don’t want the baby. –Jim L. Wilson and
Rodger Russell.

Frank Stephens is an actor, a Special
Olympian, and an advocate for those with Down
syndrome.Stephens, who himself
has Down syndrome, testified before Congress.
More than 90 percent of babies diagnosed with
Down syndrome worldwide are aborted. In
Denmark 98 percent and in Iceland it is almost
100 percent.
Before Congress,
Stephens said, “I am a man with Down syndrome
and my life is worth living. In fact, I have a
great life! I have lectured at universities,
acted in an award-winning film and an
Emmy-winning TV show, and spoken to thousands
of young people about the value of inclusion
in making America great. I have been to the
white House twice—and I didn’t have to jump
the fence either time.”
“About abortion,” he
said, “I
don’t want to make it illegal. I want to
make it unthinkable.”
For a person who
believes that God sanctifies human life, and
that all murder is a sin, Abortion is
unthinkable. It is a step on the road to mass
murder when any element of society is deemed
to be ‘not worth living.’ —Jim L. Wilson and
Rodger Russell.
Hebrews 2:6–7 (CSB)“But someone
somewhere has testified: What is man that
you remember him,or the son of man
that you care for him?7You made
him lower than the angelsfor a
short time;you crowned him with
glory and honor.”
ABORTION
In the continuing battle of
words regarding the act of abortion there is a
new entry. One argument has been about when the
baby’s heart begins to beat. “Don’t stop a
beating heart,” is the pro-life battle cry. The
pro-choice side has a counter-argument. In a
newspaper article, Alan Blinder replaced the
“baby’s heart beat” with the term “Embryonic
pulsing.”
World Magazine, June 29, 2019
p. 12
It will be easier to find and
retain support for stopping an embryonic pulse
than for stopping a beating heart although the
result is the same. The baby dies. –Jim L.
Wilson and Rodger Russell.
Luke 12:7 (CSB) Indeed, the
hairs of your head are all counted. Don’t be
afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Krista Madden, a mother in
Asheville, North Carolina has done the
unthinkable. She wrapped her 7-week-old daughter
in a thin blanket and pitched her down a steep
ravine in a hard-to-access wooded area.
Authorities say the young woman had a troubled
background. Still, it is hard to believe a
mother could be so hard-hearted toward her own
baby.
World Magazine, June 8, 2019,
p. 8
The news is much worse than
what it appears. If Krista had decided eight
weeks earlier she didn’t want the baby, she
could have had it legally killed and removed
from her womb. The only difference in the
outcome is the eight weeks of time the baby was
allowed to live outside the womb. —Jim L. Wilson
and Rodger Russell.

Even

The movie
“Unplanned” tells the story of Abby Johnson,
who used to be a Planned Parenthood clinic
director, but K-Love refuses to promote the
movie. Johnson states their refusal is because
they don’t want to promote anything that is
“political.”
In response,
K-Love said it does not promote “R-rated”
movies. However, it did promote “Passion of
the Christ.”

Claire Culwell
dedicated her web site, http://www.claireculwell.com
to telling her story. When she was 21 years
old, Claire Culwell discovered a huge secret
about her past: her biological mom had tried
to have an abortion when she was pregnant with
Claire and her twin.
While Claire’s
twin didn’t survive, Claire did—and that
revelation changed her life. “I knew that I
couldn’t stand for what abortion does. And so,
I chose to take a stance and to speak out,”
she says.
This is the
story of a miracle. Claire survived an attempt
on her life. It is also a tragedy. Her twin
was killed in the womb. We need to never
forget the tragedy that is abortion. —Jim L.
Wilson and Rodger Russell.

she was thinking about aborting the baby. When
she left the doctor, she had decided to keep
her baby and he turned out to be J.K. Dobbins,
“the miracle baby” who became a Heisman
candidate.

Maga Denes, a
psychiatrist who survived the holocaust says
that Nazis forced her brother into the Danube
River and then executed him. She describes the
scene in an abortion clinic with the same
force she saw in the killing fields of WW II.
“I have seen brains spilled on sidewalks and
crushed forever with one blow.” As she
describes the scene in a New York abortion
center “abortion killing field” she sees the
same scenes.“A death factory is the same anywhere.”
While describing the
horrible scene in an abortion center she is
still pro-choice. “It is a regrettable option,
but better for the mother.” I am positive the
Nazi’s thought the same thing about their
killing fields. “Yes, we are taking a life,
but it is for the greater good.”

Michael Freiman was a
first-trimester abortionist. He was learning
to be a second-trimester abortionist by
observing one. “Suddenly a small arm with a
hand on it dropped into the surgical pan. . .
He felt momentarily short of air, as though
someone had punched him hard in the stomach. .
.. What was wrong with him?” Freiman refused
to do second-trimester abortions.
Unfortunately, he continued doing
first-trimester ones. When he died, one woman
posted online, “He killed my unborn baby in
1978.”

The U.S. abortion rate is
lower than it was in 1973, when the U.S. Supreme
Court legalized abortion in every state. There
were 13.5 abortions per 1,000 women ages 15 to
44 in 2017, the last year for which statistics
are available, compared with 16.3 in 1973, and
29.3 in 1982 when abortions peaked.

This is good news. We are
killing fewer children. However, wouldn’t it be
better if we got to zero? Somehow, we have
become so twisted that only 13.5 of every 1,000
women killing their unborn babies is somehow a
good thing? Yes, there are less than before, but
those babies are still being killed in the womb.
